The stigma of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV prevent many from ever being tested – making it that much more difficult for health organizations to keep these oftentimes treatable or manageable diseases at bay. With the hope of easing the stigma, The AIDS Healthcare Foundation partnered with The Florida Department of Health in Broward County in 2013 to open The Broward Wellness Center – providing sexual health services to over 100 thousand patients at no cost to them. The center’s Senior Program Manager, Robert Parisi, stops by to tell us how their new expanded location promises to bring these services to even more residents.
